Katarzyna Krenz

Writer, poet and translator

Born in 1953 in Gdansk, Poland, graduated from the Faculty of Polish Language and Literature at the University of Gdańsk, worked as a journalist for local Radio and TV, as well as a free-lance journalist for several magazines and daily newspapers. She has published four novels, essays, as well as several books of poems. She took part in the Graphic Workshops "InPrint" in Weimar which resulted in exhibitions in Art Galleries in Weimar Germany 1999, Dignano Croatia 2000 and Sopot Poland 2000. Katarzyna Krenz also exhibited her watercolours in Croatia 2001, in Leba, Poland 2004 and in Portugal 2014.


Artist statement: ... I like to make poetry and painting meet and mingle, as together they become a stronger means of expression. What I enjoy most about words is their 'colourfulness' that allows me to actually paint in writing, so that a reader can see the whole scene before his eyes.
